Learn Cello With Me!

Online lessons for real people like you, who want to actually enjoy playing whatever you want to play.

My teaching…

…is verrrrrry laid back.

Most of my entire learning experience on cello, was structured around what worked for everyone else. As a result, much of my confidence was shot, because I couldn’t understand why things which worked for others, weren’t working for me.

And, I didn’t always want to play “standard repertoire”!

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all teaching – I believe in the freedom in learning to enjoy your experiences as a cellist. Every cellist has unique strengths and challenges, and my job is to help you find what works for you. My approach is practical, supportive, and tailored to your needs – whether you’re preparing for a recital, performing for a friend’s wedding, or just want to enjoy playing your cello!

Who do I teach?

  • Adult beginners
  • Returning players
  • People who want to play pop/film/game music
  • Players who feel stuck or lack confidence
  • People who want help with a particular piece/technique
  • Intermediate/advanced players who want performance coaching

It’s really important that you have your own cello, since I don’t do cello hire! You’ll also need a proper chair to sit on (not a sofa or beanbag!), and you’ll need enough space to put a camera on a stand so I can see you play.

At this point in time, I teach adults only, due to lessons being online. Generally, younger persons benefit from in-house lessons.

What are the lessons like?

All cello lessons take place online, and they’re always a vibe. There’s no judgement or expectation, and I’m not bringing Conservatoire energy to my teaching space. It’s laid back, it’s fun, and we’ll always be working on doing and playing the things which make sure you’re having the best cello journey.

So, maybe you want to work on a pop classic you heard on the radio? No problem. Perhaps your vibrato is doing your head in? We can get that sorted! Struggling with shifting from one position to another? Let’s make that as easy as possible.
