Always sharing my truths, always exploring, always learning. I aim to bring and encourage clarity where possible!

The more lives we can improve, the better, right? And sometimes that just means having a cheerleader in your pocket.

As creatives, we were never meant to “fit in”, especially if we’re always thinking outside the box! What awaits you?
We’re in a world craving human connection, and this is where I do my very best to help build on that. I very rarely plan anything – I live life with whatever is thrown at me, and hopefully make and shape it into something cool.
There are no limits (only my self-imposed ones!), but my goal is simple – to live, create, play, and indulge in work that feels like it’s the dream life of a creative person.
It doesn’t matter which “professional” hat I’m wearing – Musician, Coach, Public Speaker…Personal Cheerleader…they’re all huge parts of me, who I am, and what I can do to bring a bit of joy to the world around me. Hopefully, that includes you, too!

Sure, I’m mostly just one person managing all my “stuff”! But I wouldn’t be able to do what I do today, without the following…

CEO of All The Things

200+ year old, British handmade cello

21 year old, Bird Eyes Maple cello
And then of course there are “The Smalls” my two children, who are now 17 and 18, and anything but small. Not that they ever WERE small in the first place, but that’s another story…

“There is no “small” thing that Jay does for people; if she does something for you, it’s with her whole heart, with care, consideration, and gusto.”
Aug 2026

Jay has performed on cello for 30+ years, with numerous orchestras and ensembles around the UK, from north Scotland, right down to the south coast. She has also been invited to travel extensively to perform on cello, including locations such as Canada, USA, the Caribbean, the Channel Islands, and most of Europe.
Jay has worked as a backing musician across a wide range of professional recordings and live performances. Her work has been featured on BBC Radio 3, Radio 4, BBC World Service, Classic FM and Netflix. She has recorded at Abbey Road Studios and Maida Vale Studios, and has performed at high-profile events including for HRH Princess Anne and Olympic Team GB.
She has also worked alongside artists and public figures such as Alicia Keys, Amanda Holden, Akash Odedra, Joan Armatrading, Stormzy and Ebony Bones, among others.
Jay works with both adults of all ages, exploring the creative and performing arts, supporting them to build confidence and develop their presence on stage. With a specialist MA (Distinction) in Cello Performance and a Diploma in Transformational Life Coaching, she brings together performance expertise and coaching to help clients better understand themselves and grow in their creative expression.
During the global pandemic, Jay was diagnosed as Autistic with ADHD. This deepened her commitment to supporting other creatives, particularly those navigating similar experiences. Alongside her performing career, she also works internationally as a public speaker and coach, helping creatives expand their confidence, visibility and sense of possibility. She has been heard on BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service, and seen in The Sunday Times.
ALL SORTS OF COOL THINGS.
I’m currently a fosterer for Guide Dogs UK, and it’s amazing. We look after a new dog to lok after every so often for a few months, before they go on to their final training to be with their person.
We’re on our third dog now; he’s a golden lab with incredible eyes, and his name is Edwards. If we were to give Edwards ALL THE LOVE IN THE WORLD (which we obviously DO), he’d tell you that’s not enough and he needs MOAR. His favourite power move is to sit with his back against you, and then just slouch on you so you can’t move (dude weighs in at 34kg…).
Needless to say, he IS the Goodest Boi.

I’ve discovered rug tufting! It’s a LOT of fun, and it let’s me “paint” with yarn and create something unique. I spent MANY years crocheting and knitting all sorts of cool things, and then a few years ago, I discovered yarn spinning and weaving. Yep, I have a spinning wheel, which I do still use from time to time!
I don’t get to do so much knitting and crochet at the moment; I have to protect my fingers and joints so that I’m in great condition for cello. I’m hypermobile (possible EDS), and it’s all too easy for me to cause myself a big injury.
Tufting is AMAZING, though. I binged YouTube and TikTok videos for about a month, bought the starter kit, and then dove right in. It’s so incredibly satisfying. Hit play on the vid to see a creation I did recently for a supercar group!
I am a huuuuuuge fan of sharing stories and gaining insight. I could talk the hind quarters off a donkey, and have conversations for daaaaays if and when allowed. But over the years, I’ve also found and honed my performance confidence skills, and put them to good use outside of performing on cello.
I’ve presented and spoken on BBC World Service, BBC Radio 3 and Radio 4, Global Radio, and have appeared in The Times and The Guardian.
